Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions. If you want to know something that is not mentioned here, please feel free to contact us.
What costs are involved?
Regular training is paid for by a direct debit system, please see our membership options page for more details. Students are also required to pay a small membership fee to cover admin, we also supply students with a groin guard and a club T-shirt. This is a one off fee of £40. We can also supply students with additional insurance via the British Combat Association. This costs £20 per year and is reccomend for regular students. Private lessons, seminars, grading and private courses all vary in price, so contact us for more details.
What should I wear for training?
Wear a T-shirt, Loose bottoms such as jogging bottoms and training shoes. Specialist uniform is available if you decide to train regularily. All jewellery needs to be removed for safety.
What special equipment is needed?
Here at Krav systems we supply you with the most essential bit of kit: groin protection! But as you progress with your training boxing gloves, MMA gloves, shin guards, and gum shields are all very useful to have.
Is the training suitable for women/old people/unfit people/beginners?
Simply yes! A lot of over 40s, a few of over 50s and a couple of over 60s have trained with us. There are specific beginners classes. See the "Classes" page. Training is totally suitable for women and we have taught many females. We don't have seperate ladies classes as you are more likely to be attacked by a man but if you are a lady interested in training with us please bring a friend to train with if that makes you feel more comfortable. We are very friendly and like to make everyone feel welcome.
What is the minimum age to learn Krav Maga?
16 is currently the miminum age to learn Krav Maga with us for legal reasons and insurance purposes.
